If it will fall apart without your effort, it’s already broken. Tell yourself the truth.
Some of us spend so much time trying to make things right that we stop considering if what we’re fighting for is even worth holding on to - anymore.
Even though he/she or the situation repeatedly makes you feel bad, you want to prove to yourself that it can work. Why?
Determination can be deadly when taken out of context.
If you're confused, there's probably a bloody flag blowing somewhere trying to knock you across the freaking head. Look. See. Read. Respond accordingly.
You're too old to keep pretending that all kinds of bullshit can be overcome. Don't you want to major in something other than overcoming - some of the time - - major in something more than proving you’re right - some of the time - - major in something besides defending yourself - most of the time - - do something other than apologize for who you are or what you want all of the time?
Listen, you are not too emotional, too needy, too sensitive, too demanding, too broken, too dramatic or ‘too anything’ to be loved! Because real love is -God is -open. Never, never let somebody who 'plays small' make you feel like you’re too much.
If you have been cast in that roll, you can be sure your desperation "to make things right" is intoxicating to the accuser because it allows them to believe that everything really is all about your issues. Your “crazy” allows them to keep by-passing all the mirrors of their own inequities.
It’s time to undress your looney, and erase their perfect justification for continuing to be selfish, indifferent, non-communicative, unloving, inattentive.
If you consider doing something stupid or highly dramatic as a way of trying to make things right, because that’s the only way you know how to get an emotional response from him or her, then it’s obvious they’re emotionally retarded and you need to grow the hell up - on the instant!
Denial is a powerful drug that disguises dead ends and makes disinterest appear to be a problem that can be solved.
But all dead ends, whether hand-delivered by Jack-asses or life, are designed to remind us that we are NOT God.
Stop trying. |
